Intuitive Eating is a non-diet approach to overcoming chronic dieting and weight cycling. The program was developed by Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, and Evelyn Tribole, MS, RDN (1995) and is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Since their groundbreaking book was published there have been a dozens of scientific journals and research institutions that have found the intuitive eating process offers positive health outcomes, improved self esteem, body acceptance and is sustainable!

We are flooded with messages about our bodies and food choices on a daily basis. Most of them are meant to induce shame or encourage us to buy a product that will give us the body we always wanted. Diet and exercise programs may help us lose weight but the majority do not produce long term results. Our bodies will always fight back against deprivation and intense exercise. Most of us will gain back any weight lost on a diet plus additional pounds. Intuitive Eating teaches us to reconnect with our ability to nourish our bodies and rely on our innate signals of hunger, fullness and rediscover the pleasure of eating the foods you truly love!
