Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can be provided online or in person to Indiana and Illinois residents. The office is located in Merrillville/ Crown Point, Indiana, area and is a ground level office with easily accessible parking. Online sessions are conducted via a HIPAA compliant platform that can be accessed through a tablet, smartphone or computer.

Individuals wishing to start therapy must complete a complementary phone consultation prior to scheduling first appointment. The first session is a full assessment in which appropriate level care is determined. Length of treatment is highly individualized based on presenting problem, mental health history and level of need. Prospective clients must be over eighteen years of age and live in Indiana.

 

Intuitive Eating


In a one-on-one Intuitive Eating session, we will explore your relationship with food and your body using the Ten Principles of Intuitive Eating created by Elise Resch, MS, RDN & Evelyn Tribole, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S. This Anti-Diet approach helps you free yourself from chronic dieting, rediscover the pleasure of eating and break free from the chronic cycle of dieting and trying to control your body. In our sessions, we will use the framework outlined in the Intuitive Eating Workbook to explore the principles. Intuitive Eating has been studied extensively, and unlike diets, it has over 150 studies that show the long-term effectiveness of this approach. 

Please note this is not a therapy session or nutrition counseling. We will use the framework of the Ten Intuitive Eating Principles to help you explore your relationship with your body and food. We can work with your therapist where needed, with your consent. 



One-On-One Yoga 

Private yoga sessions are the perfect opportunity to begin exploring the connection between your mind, body, and breath in a customized way. These sessions are designed to meet your needs and can be designed to support the work you are doing with your therapist. Yoga, in all its forms, movement, meditation, and breath work, can help you begin to explore sensations in your body and quiet your mind. All sessions are trauma-informed for all levels, from beginners to more experienced practitioners. One-on-one yoga sessions are designed to meet you where you are today and help you grow to where you want to be tomorrow, moving at your own pace.
